  • Acerca de

The Bonobo Conservation Initiative (BCI) is a non-profit organization founded in 1998, dedicated to ensuring the survival of the bonobo and its tropical forest habitat in the Congo Basin.

By working with indigenous Congolese people through cooperative conservation and community development programs, as well as on the national and international levels, BCI is establishing new protected areas and leading efforts to safeguard bonobos wherever they are found.

BCI is a creative convergence of diverse, dedicated and distinguished individuals from a range of disciplines who share a common commitment to the survival of the bonobo, mitigating global warming through rainforest protection, as well as peace and prosperity in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
