Movement for Justice in El Barrio is an immigrant-led, grassroots organization fighting for justice in East Harlem, New York. Movement was founded to fight against a voracious trend towards gentrification that is devouring affordable housing and displacing low-income families from their homes.
Members practice collective decision-making and democracy at regularly-held leadership meetings and deepen their political analysis through discussions of the root causes of injustice.
