OHPRI is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization operating the Sailing School Vessel Oliver Hazard Perry. Our mission is to provide innovative and empowering education-at-sea programs to promote personal and professional growth. We achieve this aboard a magnificent brand new 200ft, three-masted fully-rigged Tall Ship, SSV Oliver Hazard Perry. This summer SSV Oliver Hazard Perry is going where no Tall Ship has sailed for over a century. Funded in part by the National Science Foundation, with a team of scientists from the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography, a documentary film crew (David Clarke Inc) and high school, undergraduate and graduate students, Oliver Hazard Perry will sail into the Northwest Passage to Cambridge Bay in the Canadian territory of Nunavut, north of the Arctic Circle.
