The Illinois Environmental Council (IEC) is the state-wide "umbrella group" for organizations and individuals who share a common interest in promoting environmental quality and protecting the land, air, water, wildlife, and human health of our state. Founded in 1975, the IEC was created to promote sound environmental law and policy in Illinois, to provide a forum for environmental interests, and to facilitate a statewide activist network.
