Greater Philadelphia NAMIWalk 2010

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the largest grass roots organization to support people with mental illness and their families. Today NAMI has affiliates in every state and over 1100 communities nationwide. NAMI provides consumers and families with information, support groups, stigma fighting, and state and federal advocacy. On Sunday, May 2, 2010, the Philadelphia area and its neighboring counties affiliates will be hosting a five-kilometer walk to raise awareness and break down the stigma of mental illness. We expect to raise $50,000 for the cause and have 1000 people participate in the walk. This would be a great opportunity for the individuals to support a worthy cause by donating there time and service. We invite you to join the walk as a volunteer and raise awareness of mental illness. More information about this walk and other ways to support NAMI can be found on the NAMI website www.nami.org.
