    Acerca de

Founded in 1939, the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra is a significant cultural organization showcasing its professional musicians and enhancing the quality of life in Norwalk and neighboring communities in Southwestern Connecticut. As one of the largest professional orchestras in Fairfield County, the Symphony has a roster composed of professional musicians from the regional area, working in Connecticut and New York. The Symphony offers five to six Main Series concerts each year, which showcase thoughtfully constructed and unique programming consisting of works old and new, of different sizes, scopes, and genres, by a diverse and equitable collection of composers.

In addition to the Main Series, the organization also plays an active role in educating young people—primarily students from underprivileged communities—through the (Not) Just for Kids program for younger students and the Master Class program for middle and high school students. Both programs offer hands-on interactive experiences for their audiences, and students are occasionally offered opportunities to perform with the orchestra. These two programs, in addition to the annual Young Artists Festival and Concerto Competition, help support the next generation of musicians and music lovers in Norwalk and beyond.
