About Milaan Foundation:

Milaan Foundation Inc. is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization which envisions an inclusive and equal world where every girl has the knowledge, skills and social environment to pursue her dreams and explore her full potential.

Started in 2015, Milaan Foundation aims to empower adolescent girls in India from disadvantaged and vulnerable communities by building a movement of young women who will dare to dream, create and live in a just and equitable world. This movement will contribute toward the fulfilment of the world’s and India’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Our Theory of Change:

We recognize that adolescent girls are a powerful catalyst to change development outcomes. Milaan encourages girls to become stronger and more empowered women by focusing on their critical transition to adulthood.

If we create and nurture safe spaces for adolescent girls to engage with self and society, then these young women will be more equipped to make better decisions for themselves and their communities. If adolescent girls, regardless of their caste, class, and religion, are empowered to participate in decision-making processes impacting their own lives and the communities they come from, they will grow as confident leaders with the abilities to transform their lives and their families, as well as change their communities into inclusive places of opportunity and equality.
