OUR SERVICE AREA

The Fox Chapel Area School District is located in a dynamic suburban community 11 miles northeast of downtown Pittsburgh. The district includes six municipalities (the boroughs of Aspinwall, Blawnox, Fox Chapel, and Sharpsburg, and the townships of Indiana and O’Hara) representing a wide range of social, economic, cultural, backgrounds. From a socio-economic standpoint, Fox Chapel is one of the most diverse districts in the state.

OUR APPROACH is to connect youth and families to vital resources they need to regain stability in the face of hardship. We work hard to ensure every child in our district has access to the basics: Groceries in the fridge, a comfortable place to sleep, school supplies in their backpack, and clothing throughout the year. But imagining a brighter future for families challenged by instability goes beyond the basics. We provide scholarships for education and enrichment, support for families to create holiday memories, and special grants and resources for families in crisis. In this way, our goal is to partner with parents to simply let kids be kids, without the burden of things out of their control.
