Through the power of storytelling, Streetside Stories values and cultivates young people's voices, fostering educational equity to build community, literacy and arts skills.
Streetside Stories is an arts education non-profit that uses storytelling, interactive theatre activities and digital storytelling to help a diverse group of middle school students in San Francisco public schools to develop their reading, writing and speaking skills.
We work in San Francisco public middle and elementary schools teaching autobiographical writing and digital storytelling workshops during the school day and after school. Our curriculum is standards based and fun! Each year we produce an anthology of student stories that is available at SF libraries and independent bookstores. We also produce a DVD anthology of mini-movies as part of our Tech Tales program.
