Touch Foundation, Inc.

  • Acerca de

Touch Foundation was founded in 2004 by Lowell Bryan, a Director Emeritus at McKinsey & Company. Our mission is to save lives and relieve human suffering. We strengthen healthcare in sub-Saharan Africa, providing better access to care and improving the quality of local health systems.

We employ a data-driven problem-solving model to address health challenges. Much of our work to date has focused on designing and implementing programs in the Lake Zone of Tanzania and demonstrating impact. Successful solutions are then scaled up to a regional/national level. Ultimately, we aim for our solutions to be adapted and replicated in other countries facing similar challenges to achieve broad, transformative impact.

To date, Touch has supported the education of over 5,000 healthcare workers. We have aided in distributing and deploying over 6,000 healthcare workers to where they are needed most in Tanzania and South Africa. Our M-Mama program has decreased maternal deaths by 27% in districts benefiting from the program’s services. We have also strengthened healthcare delivery through investments in infrastructure, equipment, and supplies, enabling healthcare workers to use their knowledge and skills to serve people in need.

Touch’s team brings a wide-range of expertise, with private and public sector backgrounds spanning from management consulting, clinical medicine, public health, and non-profit organizational management. Our highly-engaged Board of Directors also have extensive private sector expertise including management consulting, investment banking, healthcare, and legal.
