Christ Church has stood at its location in downtown Detroit since 1845 and continually strives to be a beacon of hope through robust neighborhood relationships, lively hospitality, and beautiful worship and music. A number of Detroit's founding families established the church. Today, we are a contemporary, open and affirming, multi-racial, multi-ethnic congregation, enlivened to serve the Christ in all persons. We are straight and LGBTQIA+, single, married, divorced, and remarried, with and without children. We commit ourselves to justice in education, immigration, housing, and the arts. We are here because both prayer and service strengthen our selves and our community, and because together we find acceptance and love.
