Our mission statement is to connect people to Jesus Christ by building a movement where all are included, accepted, and loved. Everything we do is about teaching and growing a relationship with Jesus! As a United Methodist Church we follow the Book of Discipline to help direct our doctrine.

In November 1974, a handful of people joined together for the first worship service of the Woods Chapel Church. This new congregation was a "church without walls," holding Sunday services at the parsonage and meeting in members' homes for small group fellowship. With a dream of connecting others to Jesus Christ, the Woods Chapel United Methodist Church was officially organized in 1976 with 23 charter families. In 1977, its first building was built on Woods Chapel Road and later expanded in 1983.
However, the church anticipated to soon outgrow its home on Woods Chapel Road, so in February 1998, the congregation broke ground on Lakewood Way. To this day, the building on Lakewood Way is home to the Lee's Summit Campus.
In an effort to reach more communities, Woods Chapel Church began expanding. A campus was planted in Raytown in 2014 and another campus in Blue Springs in 2016. In December 2018, our Raytown campus was launched as Raytown Chapel Church. In 2024, the Raytown Campus was rebranded to Woods Chapel Raytown.
Since those early days in 1974, hundreds have joined our ministry. We remain true to the roots set forth by our church founders, continuing to focus on connecting people to each other and to Jesus Christ through small groups, worship, and missions.
