Co-Equal is a small nonprofit with the mission of helping members of Congress pursue progressive policies, conduct responsible and fact-based oversight, and enhance their effectiveness. The senior members of Co-Equal’s team collectively have over 150 years of congressional and executive branch experience, including serving as President Obama’s director of legislation, House and Senate committee staff directors, House and Senate chiefs of staff, and a committee communications director. Co-Equal does not lobby members; instead, it shares best practices and provides ideas and information that help members advance their priorities.
