Mission Statement:To organize all sectors of working class people in our region into a unified, permanent, political and economic force that is union and non-union, and transcends racial, linguistic, ethnic, citizenship, and gender boundaries. We seek to address/redress the extreme income inequality that comes from lack of power for working people, and to have the ability to redistribute the wealth."Our long-term vision is to create a new
progressive local regime in which unions and community groups are the
dominant force in regional economic development; business interests are
reduced to one voice among many; goals for regional development revolve
around social and ecological needs and concerns; there is a renewed
sense of public role in social welfare; workers’ rights to form unions
is seen as central to economic health and democracy and becomes a core
principle protected by the local regime.
