Each year in the United States, billions of pounds of food go to waste. At the same time, over 35 million Americans experience food insecurity. The Farmlink Project is a fast growing nonprofit on a mission to connect farms and food supply companies with surplus food to communities across the country, while reducing carbon emissions and healing the planet. The Farmlink Project was founded amid the pandemic by college students, and since April 2020, has worked to connect farms with surplus food to communities across the nation at an increasing scale. Since our inception, we have transported over 100 million pounds of produce to partner organizations across 48 states. And we are just getting started.
