    Mission: 

    The LEAP Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to serving family caregivers of persons with serious mental illness (SMI), mental healthcare professionals, law enforcement and other stakeholders involved in the care and safety of persons suffering from these disorders. Our primary mission is to educate about the unmet needs of persons with mental illness who have anosognosia---persons who do not understand they have an illness and could benefit from treatment and services. The LEAP Foundation provides education and training through its nonprofit LEAP Institute, as well as grants, scholarships and other support to organizations and individuals wishing to learn the LEAP approach, or become certified LEAP Trainers in their communities. We support programs, families, and professionals that provide direct care to persons with SMI.
