The name of the corporation is Family Stepping Stones, which has been organized as a public benefit corporation under the Oregon Nonprofit Corporation Act. The corporation is organized and shall be operated exclusively for the purpose of charitable and educational purposes permitted by section 501 © 3 of the internal revenue code of 1986, as amended.
The mission of Family Stepping Stones is to prevent the cycle of child abuse and neglect by early intervention that focuses on building successful and resilient children, strengthening parents and preserving families. Family Stepping Stones serves low-income, multi-stressed families with young children birth through 5 years of age who are at risk for child abuse and neglect by working with families to overcome risk factors such as domestic violence and disabilities and to assist parents in retaining their children in their own homes in a safe, supportive environment.
