    The Organization: Poder Latinx is a civic and social justice organization. Our vision is to dismantle the political barriers and strengthen the power for the Latinx community to become decision-makers in our country’s democracy and win on economic, immigrant, and environmental issues. Our mission is to work to build a sustained progressive voting bloc of Latinxs in battleground states across the country. We do this by leading a voter-integrated engagement program where all aspects of voter engagement, issue-based campaigns, leadership development, voting reform, voter protection, and narrative change form a continuous cycle of political consciousness. Through our work, we empower and equip Latinxs to become agents of change now. Founded in 2019, Poder Latinx operates in Central Florida, including Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lake, Polk, counties, Arizona East Valley of Maricopa county, and in Georgia including Gwinnett, Cobb, Dekalb, Fulton, and Clayton counties. 

    Job Description: Responsibilities for the State Program Coordinator role center around assisting the Program State Director with the management of all Poder Latinx operations in the programmatic region. This includes, but is not limited to, organizing on our three core issues, end-to-end voter engagement, and overall support of the programs, which aim to engage the Latinx community year-round civic engagement and advocacy strategies. The State Program Coordinator is also responsible for supporting with daily reports to ensure accuracy, identify needed changes, and analyze the success of each program. Along with the support of the State Program Director and Poder Latinx Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the State Program Coordinator may be in charge of supporting multiple programs at once and managing multiple staff members. The State Program Coordinator must be highly organized, energetic, responsible, capable of motivating and managing staff and volunteers, and possess experience managing sizable data.

    Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Coordinates and supports the implementation of Poder Latinx’s strategy to all the plans and day to day activities, aligned with the organization’s priorities.
    • Serve as a liaison to represent Poder Latinx’s efforts on the ground. These opportunities vary from partnership meetings, coalition convenings, table meetings (c)3 and (c)4, workgroups, briefings, tv/in-print interviews, etc., with the appropriate approval from the State Program Director or SLT.
    • Implement accurate processes and procedures on administrative matters such as: hiring, payroll, discipline, tracking data & metrics, human resources, research on electoral races and geographic regions to expand into or on the issues we lead on, writing impact reports, accounting, and other types of reports required under the discretion of the State Program Director and the SLT.
    • Identify strategic potential partnerships and coalition building opportunities to help manage, retain, and build new relationships.
    Qualifications:
    • Two or more years of managerial and supervisory experience.
    • Bilingual English/Spanish (written and oral) skills are necessary. 
    • Associates degree or equivalent experience in organizing and civic engagement.
    • Experience in the following software systems; Voter Activation Network (VAN), including the ability to train others on VAN; Google Suite, including google docs, google sheets, google forms, and google spaces; and Thrutalk, Thrutext, Spoke - ability to administer and train others on the tools. 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, leadership skills, ability to communicate in a professional manner regardless of diverse interests, styles, personalities and backgrounds to successfully motivate staff to meet programmatic goals and create an inclusive environment. 
    • Knowledge on civic engagement and immigration, economic and environmental justice. 
    • Ability to perform well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment while meeting deadlines. 
    • Ability to be flexible and be able to adapt with changes.

    Additional Qualifications are a Plus:

    • Demonstrated experience in managing civic engagement, organizing programs and staff.
    • Familiarity with Blocks quality control software  
    • A demonstrated passion for civic engagement and advancing social and political change on environmental, immigrant and economic justice. 

    Additional Requirements:

    • Must be able to lift 25 pounds overhead without issue.
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and or working on a computer for long periods of time.
    • Ability to work on long hour, nights, weekends, and tentatively travel
    • Working cell phone
    • Active Driver’s license, with reliable transportation with valid auto insurance coverage
