    The Association of Community Employment Programs for the Homeless (ACE) works with individuals throughout NYC, providing job training, work experience and a lifetime support network to help our program participants secure full-time employment and achieve long-term economic independence.

    ACE seeks a full-time Counselor / Social Worker. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals who are formerly incarcerated, have experienced homelessness, or are in recovery from substance use.

    The Counselor / Social Worker will provide case management services, facilitate wellness classes and groups, conduct intake interviews, provide one-on-one support, and will report to the Program Director.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Manage a case load by assisting participants in reaching prevocational goals, making referrals as needed, communicating with referring case managers, tracking vocational and educational progress, coaching participants on job search and interview skills, and providing professional coaching
    • Facilitate classes on wellness topics
    • Run support groups as needed
    • Provide counseling and connect participants with outside service providers for additional support
    • Conduct intake interviews, assess eligibility of each candidate in conjunction with intake team
    • Perform other duties as needed or requested by program director.

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • LMSW, MHC or similar credential in a related field preferred
    • At least 2 years of social service experience
    • Comfortable facilitating groups and classes
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable working with a diverse population
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Internet research
    • A commitment to helping formerly homeless individuals transition to self-sufficiency and pursue their long-term vocational goals
