    Mirror Stage is looking for a reliable, self-motivated, detail-oriented sound engineer with several years of professional experience producing long-form audio programming to oversee all aspects of production for The Mirror Stage Podcast, ranging from technical duties to administrative tasks. You should have a distinct creative approach, proficiency with digital audio editing tools, and experience working with talent. If you believe in social justice, equity, and inclusion, and want to put your sound production management skills to good use for a progressive arts nonprofit in need of your valuable skills and talents, we want to hear from you! Although this is a hybrid position, candidates must be based in the greater Seattle Metropolitan area. If you are not currently based in the Puget Sound region, you will not be considered.

    COMPENSATION: $30/hr

    HOURS PER WEEK: 10 hrs/wk

    REPORTS TO: Managing Artistic Director

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    In partnership with the Managing Artistic Director and Podcast Co-Hosts, the Podcast Producer & Sound Engineer will:

    • Supervise the entire production process for The Mirror Stage Podcast
    • Produce monthly (or semi-monthly) podcast episodes, including:
      • Track the progress of multiple episodes, events, tasks and milestones using Asana
      • Manage podcast schedule and development
      • Identify, research and contact prospective guests
      • Coordinate and scheduling interviews for the hosts and guests
      • Prep hosts and guests before recording
      • Prepare questions for hosts and guests
      • Guide guests on talking points
    • Manage each episode's recording, editing, and distribution
      • Lead a A/V check, review best recording practices, and record the interview (currently a virtual process through Zoom)
      • Review recordings to remove mistakes and clean the audio
      • Edit content to create a cohesive story and add select music sections
      • Publish podcast episodes via Anchor with show notes
      • Monitor each episode's analytics and metrics
    • Attend all staff and bi-monthly board meetings
    • Submit bi-weekly reports documenting work completed & planned
    • Maintains Podcast production files in Salesforce
    • Attain technical competency in using Asana, Zoom, and Salesforce NPSP
    • Participate in ongoing learning and professional training opportunities, as appropriate
    • Maintains written office procedures manual for area of responsibility
    • Participate in Podcast and organizational long-range planning

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • At least two years’ professional experience using Audacity, Pro-Tools, GarageBand, and/or equivalent sound editing software, with access to sound editing software on your own equipment.
    • Passion for and dedication to Mirror Stage’s mission, vision and values
    • Ability to see, value, and adapt to cultural differences. Demonstrated and/or lived experience working with people of diverse ages, genders, sexualities, ethnicities, cultures, races, abilities, and socio-economic backgrounds, including those historically excluded by mainstream arts organizations
    • Reliable, dependable, organized self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills, impeccable attention to detail, and strong organizational skills, who is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Ability to work independently, ask questions, and commit to an agreed-upon work schedule
    • Tech savvy with high proficiency in Microsoft Office and Zoom. Comfort with online collaboration tools and virtual office environment.
    • Comfortable working with and willingness to learn specialized database and project management software. Proficiency with Salesforce and Asana a plus.
    • Must have access to reliable personal transportation, such as car or transit pass
    • Lived commitment to and investment in racial and social justice and anti-oppression analysis
