    Catharsis Arts Foundation is a non-profit initiated by artist Prune Nourry, dedicated to amplifying the voices of underrepresented women through the power of art.     Position Overview

    Catharsis Arts Foundation is seeking a highly organized and multi-talented General Manager who will act as the main person managing the organization and all its operations, with a dual focus on strategic leadership and hands-on management. The General Manager will report to the Founder and Board of Directors, serving as the “doer” within the Foundation and overseeing all aspects of its operations and programs. The General Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the Foundation’s long-term financial sustainability, with guidance from the Board. This role involves significant administrative, programming and fundraising responsibilities, which are crucial to support the success of the Foundation’s diverse initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership:

    • Implement the Foundation’s strategic plan, as defined by the Board of Directors, ensuring all initiatives align with the organization’s mission and long-term goals.
    • Oversee the implementation of efficient and scalable organizational structures and processes with a startup mindset.
    • Work closely with the Board of Directors to develop and execute annual operating budgets and achieve the Foundation’s annual fundraising goals

    Administration and Operations:

    • Serve as the central coordinator for the Foundation, managing all administrative functions and day-to-day activities and ensuring operational efficiency.
    • Develop and manage budgets, track donations, and maintain financial records.
    • Lead and ensure follow up of weekly administrative and production meetings.
    • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

    Development and Fundraising:

    • Manage all fundraising initiatives, from identifying potential donors to cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors and collectors.
    • Manage databases, ensuring all donor information is accurate, up-to-date, and effectively utilized for fundraising efforts.
    • Develop fundraising materials and organize fundraising events.

    Program Management:

    • Supervise local program managers and coordinate the production of workshops, conferences, media programs, and touring exhibitions in various countries.
    • Craft budgets, develop timelines, and monitor the evolution of all programs, in the US and internationally.
    • Implement grant programs aimed at serving targeted communities.
    • Establish robust systems and methods to measure, evaluate, and scale the organization’s impact

    Outreach and Communication:

    • Organize and manage events such as monthly talks, from ideation to planning to execution.
    • Be the face of the organization and host studio visits for collectors and patrons at Prune Nourry’s atelier in New York, located within the organization’s premises.
    • Manage website and social media accounts.

    Reporting and Governance:

    • Oversee the two non-profits that form Catharsis Arts Foundation in France and in Nigeria and ensure that both entities operate according to their bylaws and remain aligned with overall mission the Foundation.
    • Prepare and follow up on Board meetings and advisory committee meetings, ensuring that all actions and decisions are documented and executed efficiently.
    • Report to the Board of Directors and key stakeholders on the effectiveness of programs and initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for future planning.

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience in a management role within the arts or non-profit sector, with a strong track record of delivering on objectives.
    • Experience in administration, including financial management.
    • Experience in program management and operations.
    • Experience in fundraising and donor management.
    • Experience in event planning and logistics management.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and timelines across different countries, with a deep understanding of transcultural dynamics.
    • Fluency in French is required, as you will be managing operations in both French-speaking and English-speaking regions.
    • Strong analytical skills, with experience in impact measurement and reporting.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to represent the Foundation in the outside world.
    • Ability to work independently as a self-starter, with strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
