    Rural Dynamics, Inc. (RDI) is a statewide financial empowerment center that provides programs to help people achieve financial wellness. Along with financial education, our nonprofit offers no-cost tax services, financial and housing counseling, special needs trusts, payee management, and assistive technology lending. Our programs and partnerships all provide pathways to building financial resilience. We also utilize indirect or upstream strategies such as forming coalitions, leading communications, capacity building for poverty reduction, and advocacy support to meet our mission. Our nonprofit provides all services and programs statewide in Montana.

    The AmeriCorps Program Manager is responsible for supporting the AmeriCorps NCCC Tax Help Montana volunteers during tax season and overseeing the day-to-day program activities of the AmeriCorps intermediary at RDI. The position supervises ten to sixteen AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteer In Service To America) members and assists in recruiting and supervising volunteers. The position is responsible for recruiting statewide nonprofit and government agency Sponsor Sites and Tax Sites that need volunteer members to help develop capacity. The person in this position will assist in reporting to two federal agencies, the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The AmeriCorps Program Manager works closely with the Tax Help MT Manager and Executive Director to support volunteers to meet program goals and federal guidelines.

    Primary Responsibilities & Duties

    • Supervises all AmeriCorps project reporting, provides program support, and evaluates volunteer effectiveness.
    • Collaborates to recruit and coordinate VISTA, VITA, and TCE tax volunteers.
    • Recruits grant required Sponsor Sites and volunteer members annually.
    • Manages the Sponsor Site application and member recruitment process to select the appropriate sites and candidates for participation in the program. Executes all enrollment and exit processes.
    • Provides guidance, mentoring, problem solving, conflict resolution, and training to volunteers stationed throughout Montana in support of helping them develop professional, analytical, and technical skills.
    • Assesses volunteer performance and continues or terminates volunteer service accordingly.
    • Provides training and technical assistance to Tax and Sponsor Site and volunteers as needed for a successful working relationship and project.
    • Prepares presentations to the public about volunteering with RDI and sharing RDI’s programs and mission.
    • Assists in grant writing and reporting to the CNCS Portfolio Manager.
    • Stays current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies.
    • Other ad hoc duties as requested by leadership.

    Professional & Educational Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Associate degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
    • Minimum of two (2) years related work experience, in the areas of: volunteer leadership, recruiting, AmeriCorps, volunteer management, human resources, process improvement, or project management
    • Demonstrated computer literacy, including web-based applications and proficiency with database management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite.
    • National service or nonprofit volunteer development experience preferred.

Exceptional presentation, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Capability to understand and develop processes to make workflows manageable and replicable. Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and discretion.

    Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

    Schedule: Monday through Friday office hours with evenings and weekends as required.

    Travel Requirement: Must be a licensed driver with full time access to reliable, properly registered, and insured car and be able and willing to travel to locations within organization’s service area. Travel expected up to 20%.

    Additional Information

    • Projected Salary $42,000-$45,000.
    • All full-time employees receive 19 paid days off during their first year of employment, in addition to 10 company-paid holidays per year
    • RDI employees can start contributing to a 403b right away! We also have a 401(a) Profit Sharing Plan. After one year of employment we make a monthly contribution to eligible employee’s Profit Sharing Account equivalent to 5% of their monthly gross compensation.
