    Position Description

    Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, the Grants Manager is a key member of the Development, Marketing, & Communications department, and will assist with building and maintaining institutional revenue streams (foundations, corporations, and government entities), managing institutional relationships, and overseeing execution. Primarily focused on foundation fundraising and grant writing, the Grants Manager will also work closely with the Director of Institutional Advancement on our city, state, and federal government contracts, and will collaborate with other team members to build a robust corporate giving portfolio. This position ensures grant compliance and timely preparation of invoices and reports to funders.

    Responsibilities

    Assist with execution of a comprehensive strategy and implementation plan for current, lapsed, and new institutional donors to meet fundraising goals.

    Expand and diversify foundation donor pipeline and work closely with other team members to secure funding for existing and new initiatives.

    Along with the Director of Institutional Advancement, oversee grant pipeline, proposal, and report preparation and compliance with all grant requirements across the team.

    Produce grant applications, reports, presentations, invitations, and other correspondence associated with cultivating and soliciting funders.

    Work with team members to build out an up-and-coming corporate giving program to build a robust suite of volunteer and funding opportunities to attract corporate partners.

    Support the leadership of LP’s two program departments to develop and manage grant budgets, invoices, and reporting to ensure compliance.

    Work with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate preparation of all monthly, quarterly and annual invoices to government funding sources, and to allocate program funds, track budgets, manage payments, and aggregate reporting.

    Qualifications

    At least 3 years of demonstrated experience and success cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts from foundations and corporations in particular, with NY state and city government grants experience preferred.

    Deep knowledge of institutional and nonprofit fundraising landscape and trends. Preferred experience with grant writing for educational or social justice organizations.

    Experience with creating and executing budgets for large-scale projects.

    Understanding of systems used to facilitate and increase efficiency of grant-writing process, including AI.

    Demonstrated critical thinking, planning, and goal-setting skills. Confirmed strength in project plan development, management, and execution; an ability to drive sophisticated, multifaceted projects forward to deliver results on time.

    Proficient in data analysis and using data insights to drive action.

    Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and proven relationship management skills.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace, Raiser’s Edge and NYC government portals (e.g. Passport), Grants Gateway.

    A commitment to the Oxford Comma, its consistent usage, and a sense of humor.

    Additional Workplace Expectations:

    This is a full-time exempt position.

    Occasional evening work required.

    This is a hybrid position. Candidates for this position should be prepared to work in the office at least two days per week when needed.

    Compensation and Benefits:

    Annual starting salary range for this position is $70,000-$80,000.
