    Position Summary

    3SGF seeks a heart-centered, strategic-minded Director of Survivor Services to lead strategy creation, delivery, and oversight of the direct services that support survivors of human trafficking on their journey to recovery through education, employment, and other reintegration programs. This leadership position requires an innovative and empathetic professional with a strong background in direct client services, day to day team management, program development, and a commitment to making a lasting impact in the lives of survivors.

    The ideal candidate will help shape the survivor services strategy, stabilize and rebuild a passionate team, promote awareness and education through public engagement, and support development efforts to identify and secure new grants to advance our work. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this position will oversee a large portion ($2M+) of the organization’s annual budget and a team of 15 compassionate professionals with lived experiences around human trafficking.

    Primary Duties

    • Strategic Leadership: Strategize, initiate and set long- and short-term goals for maintaining and expanding all survivor services programs.
    • Program Development and Implementation: Oversee the development, enhancement and effective implementation of survivor services programs to meet the diverse needs of survivors.
    • Financial Oversight: Lead in financial planning, budget management, and administrative oversight to ensure organization’s resources are used to maximize impact.
    • Monitoring & Evaluation: Establish robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess the impact of programs and make data-driven decisions to enhance the effectiveness of services.
    • Development & Fundraising: In collaboration with the Development team, identify grant and funding opportunities, assist with the planning and implementation of grants and funding, and assist with grant writing and reporting.
    • Team management: Day to day oversight in motivating, recruiting, developing, retaining, and mentoring high-performing, mission-driven, results-oriented teams.
    • Cultural Ambassador: Foster a culture of empathy, resilience, positivity, continuous improvement and personal accountability.
    • External Relations and Communication: Represent and promote the organization, its mission and programs and serve as a spokesperson publicly at events, conferences, and partnership meetings.
    • Board Governance: Attend all Board meetings and provide reports and updates on staff, current work, project timelines, and organizational progress.

    Position Requirements

    The Director of Survivor Services will demonstrate cultural sensitivity in managing a diverse team and deploy a solution-focused mindset as well as a commitment to innovative thinking to authentically serve survivors of human trafficking. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative, a proactive communicator, and build consensus in decisions.

    While it’s understood that no single candidate will bring every single competency, strong candidates will offer the following skills, characteristics, and experiences:

    • Passion, empathy, and a deep commitment to create a world free from human trafficking
    • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, therapy, or a related field
    • Five to ten years of progressive management experience at a nonprofit, foundation, government agency; Ideally as a program director or other supervisory position.
    • Prior experience with an organization that focuses on human trafficking, domestic violence, trauma, youth or children serving, or that provides direct services to clients.
    • Demonstrated ability to set clear expectations and accountability measures for deliverables while encouraging innovation and initiative.
    • Prior success in executing and expanding programmatic growth, performance evaluation techniques, and providing strategic leadership.
    • Understands the sensitive nature of the work, and can nurture relationships and manage a diverse team with positivity, integrity and honesty
    • A strong, proactive problem solver who can bridge the gap between strategy and execution, and a self-starter that can work well in a highly ambiguous environment.
    • Excellent written, oral, and public speaking skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with strong interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
    • Working knowledge of Google Suites and program management software (e.g. Apricot, Monday.com, etc.)
    • 20% travel expected (Local + Domestic)- speaking engagements, policy advocacy, visit with local partners, etc.

    Location

    Based in Sacramento, CA, or surrounding areas, we work in a hybrid environment. Our hybrid schedule allows continued flexibility for our staff with the option to work 4 days/week in the office and the remaining day working at home/remotely. First six months may require more in person and will decrease as there is comfort and confidence in the role and with the team.

    Salary is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skill set level and years of previous/applicable experience. Salary range for this role is between $90,000- $100,000. Benefits offerings include health, dental and vision insurance, company paid long term disability and basic life insurance, 401k, and a generous time off package.     1. Employ + Empower is a wrap around direct services program serving survivors of human trafficking and at-risk individuals. Survivors are empowered and supported through a pathway to employment or education.
    2. The Table, a 13,000 sq ft drop-in center fully equipped to serve survivors of human trafficking.
