The Century Foundation, a leading progressive think tank, is seeking an innovative and passionate Digital Communications Manager to lead TCF’s social media, email, and digital campaigns focused on advancing policy change in pursuit of racial, gender, economic and disability equity.

The Digital Communications Manager will be responsible for setting overall digital strategy for the organization, as well as the day-to-day execution of that strategy across channels, including Twitter/X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google, and the website (plus digital support for our spinoff think tank, Next100). The Digital Manager will work closely with the communications, research, and policy teams and TCF leadership to grow our online audience and deepen engagement, including assisting with web publishing, multimedia production, events, and more as needed.

We’re seeking a proven digital strategist, creative thinker, and self-starter who can hit the ground running on day one. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of work experience, including experience running digital ad campaigns. Previous political, campaign, policy, advocacy/nonprofit, and/or agency experience is a plus. Reporting to the Deputy Communications Director, the Digital Manager will join a dynamic and growing team that is at the forefront of many of our nation’s most important policy, advocacy, and political fights.

    Responsibilities

    • Set and execute big-picture digital strategy and issue-specific digital campaigns across TCF and Next100 policy areas, initiatives, and institutional profile-building.
    • Manage TCF’s social media channels, including Twitter/X, LinkedIn, and Facebook to promote TCF’s policy research and expertise.
    • Develop and implement digital campaigns that deliver results, such as lead acquisition, direct donation, and web traffic. Track, analyze, and report out results and integrate findings into future campaigns.
    • Write, design, and send institutional newsletters, campaign emails, news alerts, donation asks, and more to TCF subscribers. Manage segmented audience lists and subscriber databases in MailChimp.
    • Manage TCF’s Google Adwords grant to maximize audience engagement and click-throughs.
    • Provide training and one-on-one coaching to staff on social media best practices. Stay abreast of and communicate the latest trends in the digital landscape to staff.
    • Support TCF’s groundbreaking spinoff think tank, Next100, to achieve their digital communications goals, including providing support on social media strategy, email, and content promotion.
    • Additional communications support duties may include researching press contacts and relevant coverage, helping maintain press lists, assisting with events, web publishing, video and podcast production, UI/UX, and other tasks as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 5 years experience leading and/or supporting the development of digital strategy and executing on it, including managing paid social media campaigns.
    • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills—especially clean and concise writing and editing.
    • Proven ability and understanding of how to “break through” the online chatter.
    • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to handle multiple assignments under deadline in a fast-paced, campaign-like environment.
    • Proven leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
    • SEO, Google Ads, and Google Analytics proficiency.
    • Someone who is a creative thinker, has ideas, and takes initiative to follow through on them.
    • Strong news sense and knowledge of the progressive policy and political landscape.
    • Experience managing digital strategy and growing donor base in/for a nonprofit organization with fundraising requirements is a strong preference.
    • Video editing, production/design skills, coding abilities, and/or event management experience is a plus.
    • Dedication to building a stronger, more equitable, and more inclusive society. Sense of humor is a plus!
