Description
Our research and policy team conducts research to develop and carry out campaigns
focused on winning economic, environmental, and housing justice for low wage,
primarily immigrant hospitality and food service workers.
Job responsibilities will include:
Conduct local and field research on public policy issues related to wages and workplace conditions, housing, and environmental justice.
Communicate and build relationships with a wide variety of people and organizations, including community organizations, company officials, customers, government staff, elected leaders, investment funds, etc.
Work closely with union members, organizers and other staff, elected leaders etc.; assist in
moving campaigns forward through organizing, leading actions, and canvassing.
Desired Qualifications include:
Passion for, and commitment to, fighting for workers' rights
BA degree or relevant research and/or activist experience (labor, political, urban planning, or community/campus)
Strong analytical, writing, computer and interpersonal/organizing skills
Willingness to travel extensively, to work long and sometimes irregular hours.
Familiarity with database and word processing software
Ability to effectively manage a workload with competing priorities and deadlines
Reliable car and driver’s license

Salary:
$60k to 70k per year, commensurate with experience.
