    This position is considered remote, 0-1 days onsite at 10 Brookline Place, Brookline, MA each week. DFCI guidelines state that employees must reside in New England: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont.

    General Summary: 

    The Officer, Recognition, Donor Experience & Engagement works collaboratively as a member of the Division of Philanthropy to help the department meet its annual fundraising goals. This position works with the entire Donor Experience & Engagement team on recognition programs.  Responsible for assisting the entire Division with reaching financial goals.

    The onboarding of this role will include a comprehensive training process which includes completion of online modules, shadowing colleagues, as well as hands-on learning experiences throughout the first calendar year in the role.

    Dana-Farber is currently undertaking an ambitious fundraising effort to change the future of cancer research and care: The Dana-Farber Campaign. This multibillion-dollar campaign is the largest in the Institute’s history and one of the largest ever in the U.S. focused solely on cancer. Philanthropy raised through The Dana-Farber Campaign is focused on accelerating the Institute’s strategic priorities by supporting revolutionary science, extraordinary care, exceptional expertise, and essential opportunities—helping us prevent, treat, and Defy Cancer.

    Responsibilities:

    Assist with and/or manage donor recognition initiatives and projects, such as:

      • Maintain inventory for nameable space recognition opportunities across the Dana-Farber campus, including review of all named spaces, description writing, including pricing and location details, creation and maintenance of signage, photography of spaces and signage, review and tracking of campus changes affecting spaces, and coordination with frontline fundraisers;
      • Facilitate updates and maintenance for recognition displays, donor recognition walls across the Dana-Farber campus, including coordination with frontline fundraisers, vendors, and Facilities and Real Estate Management;
      • Manage donor recognition gift program, including creation, updating of gifts catalogs, development of custom gift ideas, gift orders, adherence to recognition guidelines and standards, gift inventory, and tracking in ClearView;
      • Coordination of the patient partner program, including patient recruitment, partner tracking, and health checks, and regular correspondence with key stakeholders;
      • Assist in tracking giving for select donor populations, including tracking in ClearView;
      • Annual donor record review process across all teams and external partners;
      • Provide support for the ThankView platform within the Division;
      • Maintain a library for Donor Experience & Engagement photography;
      • Campus tour document review and updating, as well as tour trainings for Philanthropy staff;
      • Procedures and systems documentation for all projects for internal use;
      • Responsible for project time tracking in QuickBase system;
      • Responsible for assisting the entire department with reaching annual financial goals.
      • Assume other duties as necessary.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Reports to Assistant Director, Donor Experience & Engagement. The position is programmatic in nature and a considerable amount of responsibility in completing work-related tasks is required.

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma or equivalency required. Associates/Bachelors degree preferred. 2+ years relevant work experience required.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

      • Excellent organizational skills, project management skills, and attention to detail.
      • Strong customer service and written and verbal communication skills.
      • Strong computer skills, particularly with database management.
      • Effective in working with wide audiences, including highest level of DFCI constituents.
