May is Mental Health Awareness Month!! Please join BOSS at very special MENTAL WEALTH BLOCK PARTIES: these are FREE, family friendly community health fairs designed to raise awareness of mental health issues and available services for low income, underserved community members -- to fight against stigmas to seeking mental health services -- to build community in safe neighborhood spaces -- and to share music, food, prizes, giveaways, and community spirit to fuel mental health care for all.
There will be TWO EVENTS:
- Wed. May 14 (11am-3pm) at South County Homeless Project, 258 West A Street in Hayward
- Wed. May 28 (11am-3pm) at Liberation Park, 7101 Foothill Blvd. in Oakland
Nonprofit health/mental health service providers will be on-site to offer resources, information and services, and personal testimonials on the importance of mental health treatment and fighting discrimination and stigmas.
For 54 years BOSS has helped homeless, poor and disabled people achieve health and self-sufficiency by providing shelter, housing, employment, education, health/mental health services, violence prevention, and other community services. We believe everyone can turn their lives around -- with the right kind of resources and support. JOIN US to celebrate mental health, self-care, and community!
