    Description

    Richmond Music School has an opening for a volunteer to help us with finding the resources to fund our programs. This is a mostly-remote position with flexible hours. Some in-person meetings may be required, so applicants need to be in the Greater Vancouver Metro area.

    Richmond Music School is a charitable organization, established in 1979 in Richmond, BC, with the goal of providing the highest level of musical education to people of all ages. Through private and group lessons, both theoretical and practical, we strive to enrich the lives of our students, community and society as a whole.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including annual and one-time campaigns;
    • Create and grow diverse revenue streams;
    • Enhance relations with current donors, and find and develop new sponsors and donors; and
    • Assist the volunteer Grant Writer in sourcing and screening potential grants.

    Knowledge & experience:

    • Some experience in fundraising, particularly in the major gift and annual giving areas;
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including strong written and oral communication;
    • Exceptional attention to detail; and 
    • A knowledge of and passion for music is preferred.

    Expected time commitment: 2 – 5 hours per week.
