Overview:

As a Volunteer Donation Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in managing the donation process for our organization. You will be responsible for coordinating donation drives, engaging with donors, and ensuring that donations are properly received, sorted, and distributed. This role requires excellent organizational skills, communication abilities, and a passion for making a positive impact in the community.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate Donation Drives: Plan, organize, and execute donation drives, including but not limited to food drives, clothing drives, and fundraising campaigns.
• Engage with Donors: Cultivate relationships with donors, including individuals, businesses, and community organizations. Communicate the mission and needs of the organization effectively to encourage donations.
• Manage Donation Collection: Oversee the collection of donated items, ensuring that donations are received safely and securely. Arrange for pick-ups or drop-off locations as needed.
• Sort and Organize Donations: Coordinate volunteers to help sort and organize donated items. Ensure that all donations are properly categorized, stored, and ready for distribution.
• Maintain Donation Records: Keep accurate records of all donations received, including donor information, donation quantities, and donation dates. Generate reports as needed to track donation trends and patterns.
• Coordinate Distribution: Work with relevant team members to ensure timely distribution of donations to those in need. Coordinate with partner organizations or community centers to facilitate distribution efforts.
• Recruit and Train Volunteers: Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to assist with donation drives, sorting, and distribution tasks. Provide guidance and support to volunteers to ensure smooth operations.
• Promote Donation Opportunities: Develop and implement strategies to promote donation opportunities and increase donor engagement. Utilize social media, email newsletters, and community events to raise awareness about donation drives and encourage participation.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Experience in volunteer coordination or event planning is preferred.
• Passion for community service and helping those in need.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends for donation drives or events.
• Knowledge of donation management software or willingness to learn.
