    Description

Become a Mentor for Immigrant High School Students!

Enroot is looking for Volunteer Mentors to meet with immigrant high school students at Cambridge Rindge & Latin School or Somerville High School. We aim to create a sense of belonging for our students and volunteer mentors play a huge role in that. Mentors are partners in students success and help us build meaningful relationships and a strong community of support.

We are especially looking for BIPOC, immigrants, and speakers of Spanish, Portuguese, and Haitian Creole. We'll have a better idea of other language needs in the fall so if you speak another language we'll likely have a student looking for someone like you!

Mentoring nights are facilitated by Enroot staff to help mentors and students connect with each other. We're mainly focused on relationship building and social emotional support but sometimes students may request a mentor who can help in a specific academic subject. Mentors work with 2-3 students for a full academic year (we love when mentors continue working with their students in following years as well!) See below for the timing and location of our volunteer opportunities.
