    Description

    Who We Are:  

    Night Owl Reconnaissance is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with the purpose to contribute to the detection and prevention of causes that lead to missing individuals, assisting in investigations of missing persons, and offering victim assistance and resources to those recovered. Founded in 2019, we have focused on investigating individual missing persons cases while working to expand to the detection and prevention of missing persons and offering resources for those who have been recovered. 

    Job Duties: 

    Our Investigation Division conducts research into instances of alleged or suspected missing person and human trafficking investigations using a suite of techniques, analysis, and methods to uncover relevant information which can be transmitted to the proper authorities.  

    We are looking for outgoing and engaging people who have an interest or background in conducting Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), use multiple-source analysis on investigations to uncover relevant information, can outline investigative activities, and produce presentations and analytical reports for internal and external stakeholders.

    This position plays a large role in developing context and proactive investigative leads as part of the larger investigative group. Candidates should be willing to attend case review meetings, participate in ongoing education, and act as advocates.

    Qualifications: 

    Willingness to learn or have knowledge of basic open-source and public record research.

    The ability to research intuitively to uncover hard to find information.

    An ability and desire to read, analyze, and extract large amounts of information from various sources and then utilize that information to further an investigation.

    Candidates should have a willingness to work in a collaborative setting.

    Higher education in Criminal Justice, Analysis, Data Science, or related field is a plus.

    Time Commitment:

    We ask that volunteer can give at least one (1) hour per week, when it fits their schedule.
