    Description

    Resilience, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving the mental health of students, as well as reducing mass shootings, suicide, and depression. Resilience, Inc also works to combat declining test scores, low student engagement, and a slew of other social issues. 

    Our organization focuses on offering Social Emotional Learning tools to enable K-12 schools to teach emotional intelligence through five core topics; self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, relationship management, goal setting, and effective decision-making. Resilience, Inc. also provides tools for acquiring and maintaining inspiration, hope, and overall well-being.  

    Our mission is to teach SEL at every school in the country. It is a tough challenge, but we know “No Challenge, No Change.” If you are also concerned about children’s mental health and social being, join us!     Resilience offers volunteer programs that require at least a 4 month commitment with a minimum of 5 hours per week. There are flexible start and end dates with the option to continue after meeting the minimum requirement

    There is the opportunity to earn school credit. It is the responsibility of the student to check with their institution to be sure they meet any requirements before they accept a position.

    The Video Editor is an essential role within our nonprofit organization, responsible for crafting engaging and informative 20-minute videos that support our mission and initiatives. This volunteer programs offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in video editing, storytelling, and content creation while contributing to a noble cause.

    Responsibilities and Activities:

    - Edit raw video footage, audio recordings, graphics, and animations into engaging 30-second TikTok videos that resonate with TikTok's audience and platform trends. 

    - Collaborate with the content team, social media managers, and subject matter experts to understand project requirements, messaging, and visual style guidelines for TikTok video projects. 

    - Optimize video content for TikTok's vertical format, aspect ratio, and duration, ensuring compatibility with TikTok's editing tools, features, and audience preferences. 

    - Apply creative editing techniques, visual effects, transitions, and sound design to enhance the storytelling, pacing, and engagement of TikTok videos. 

    - Incorporate TikTok trends, hashtags, challenges, and interactive elements to increase visibility, reach, and virality of TikTok video content and Implement best practices for TikTok video optimization, i-including captions, subtitles, text overlays, and calls to action to encourage user interaction and engagement.

     - Collaborate with the social media team to schedule, publish, and promote TikTok videos across Resilience, Inc.'s TikTok channel and other social media platforms.

    Requirements:

    - Proven experience as a video editor, preferably with expertise in editing short-form videos for social media platforms like TikTok. 

    - Proficiency in video editing and knowledge of TikTok's editing tools and features.

     - Strong portfolio showcasing TikTok video editing projects, including creativity, storytelling, visual effects, and engagement metrics. 

    - Creative mindset, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and objectives. 

    - Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines. 

    - Passion for mental health advocacy, social impact, and using video as a medium for storytelling and positive change.

    Note: This volunteer program offers a unique chance to be part of a meaningful project that positively impacts the lives of refugees. While the position is unpaid, it provides valuable experience in project management, social impact initiatives, and collaboration with diverse teams. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a noble cause and enhance your skills in a real-world setting.
