Job Title: Volunteer Dog Transporter

Overview:

As a Volunteer Dog Transporter, you will play a crucial role in helping dogs reach their forever homes or new shelters/rescues. Your main responsibility will be transporting dogs safely from one location to another, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the journey.

Responsibilities:

• Transport dogs to and from shelters, rescues, foster homes, veterinary appointments, and adoption events.

• Ensure the safety and well-being of dogs during transport

• Adhere to all relevant laws and regulations regarding animal transport

• Communicate effectively with the volunteer coordinator to coordinate transport schedules. 

• Provide a positive and caring environment for the dogs in your care. 

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance. ( Picture of driver's license is required)

• Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and breeds.

• Ability to remain calm and patient in stressful situations

• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team

• Prior experience in animal transport or handling is a plus but not required.

• Must be able to volunteer a minimum of 5 to 10 hours per month. 

Time Commitment: 

• Flexible, based on availability.
• Transport trips can range from a few hours to a full day, depending on the distance.
