    Description

    Bird Care Volunteer

    Join our team caring for Georgia's native birds! Dedicated individuals are needed for regular bird care shifts. Hands-on training with a licensed rehabiliator is provided. 

    ​Located in Legacy Park, Decatur, Wild Nest Bird Rehab is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, committed to the care of Georgia's native birds and educating the public about their conservation.

    ​Responsibilities include:

    • Hand feeding baby birds
    • Preparing a variety of food and formulas
    • Cleaning bird habitats and general facility cleaning
    • Recognizing and communicating patient problems

    Qualifications

    • No bird care experience is required. We will train you via our structured training program.
    • Ability to volunteer for a 4 hour shift once per week
    • Some attention to detail is needed in order to follow protocols and procedures
    • Must be 18+ years of age
    • A love for animals!

    Once trained in our bird care processes, other volunteer opportunities may be made available such as marketing, working events, fundraising, administrative and gardening.
