About Us
Long Island Traditions is dedicated to documenting, presenting and preserving the traditional architecture, cultural diversity and occupational traditions of Long Island, NY. Projects include historic and cultural resoource surveys, oral histories of recent and established immigrants, arts in education programs on community heritage and traditional music, and concerts and festivals featuring traditional artists and residents. Annual events include Honoring Traditions, maritime folklife festival, bay house and summer bungalow tours and arts-in-education programs in elementary and secondary schools.
