Holistic Riding Equestrian Therapy

  • About Us

Holistic Riding Equestrian Therapy’s goal is to help every varied ability/special needs individual, family, and veteran improve their quality of life and reach their fullest potential.

HRET is passionately committed to empowering the lives of individuals with varied physical, emotional, cognitive, and social abilities through the spirit of the horse. HRET provides Equine Assisted Activities and Therapy (EAAT) to our participants.  The connection with horses is extremely powerful. Our participants experience the responsibility of caring for an animal that needs them to survive, giving them a sense of purpose and boosting their self-esteem. The individual and team life skills that our participants gain are immeasurable. HRET’s curriculum also introduces non-traditional career paths (i.e. animal sciences, veterinarian/vet techs, farrier, dental specialists), increasing student interest and enrollment in post-graduate education and nontraditional career opportunities.

HRET is an all-inclusive program which crosses all socio-economic, ethnic and racial boundaries to serve all varied ability individuals equally and equitably from all backgrounds.  Currently, we serve over 85 riders from the Chicagoland area.
