  • About Us

The Wartburg Foundation is a non-profit organization, and the fund raising arm of the Wartburg Adult Care Community (WACC) in Mount Vernon, NY. Established in 1886 as an orphanage in the Lutheran Social Services network, the WACC remains a non-profit, faith-based program that serves people of all faiths. Over 500 older adults are cared for daily on the Wartburg's 36-acre campus. A continuum of care includes independent living; a large home care practice; adult day programs; short term rehabilitation; assisted living; dementia care; and residential skilled nursing care. An important aspect of The WACC's mission is the care of those with few resources.

The Foundation stewards a $26 million Endowment and raises all financial support for the WACC.
