About Us
Pisgah Legal Services (PLS) is a community-based non-profit law firm providing free civil legal assistance to low-income people primarily in Buncombe, Henderson, Madison, Polk, Rutherford, Yancy and Transylvania Counties in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina. There are over 65,000 client-eligible people in those seven counties. The advocate staff consists of 17 attorneys. PLS directly serves over 10,000 people annually in cases handled by staff and volunteer attorneys, and provides community education and outreach to many other low-income clients.
