About Us
DRUM- Desis Rising Up & Moving is a multi-generational, membership based organization of over 1,800 low-wage South Asian immigrant workers, youth, and families organizing for social and economic justice in New York City. DRUM organizes low-income, largely Muslim, undocumented South Asian immigrant families and youth through base-building and membership services, leadership development, campaigns for policy change, and movement building. DRUM’s four programs are: (1) the Racial & Immigrant Justice Program, (2) YouthPower!, (3) the South Asian Workers Center and (4) the Global Justice Program. DRUM’s internal structure ensures low-income people impacted by the issues lead campaigns and run the organization. We seek dynamic and committed staff to grow a successful organization.
