  • About Us

The Western Massachusetts Enterprise Fund, Inc. (WMEF) is a private nonprofit community development financial institution working to strengthen communities by creating economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income people in western and central Massachusetts.

Incorporated in 1990, WMEF provides financing and technical assistance for businesses (including small landlords) and nonprofit organizations that may otherwise not qualify for traditonal funding.

WMEF provides loans of $1,000 to $150,000 to finance start-ups, existing businesses and nonprofits in the First and Second Massachusetts Congressional Districts. WMEF also collaborates with other commercial and public lenders to provide a portion of financing on larger projects.
