The mission of Pratt Institute is to educate artists and creative professionals to be responsible contributors to society. Pratt seeks to instill in all graduates aesthetic judgment, professional knowledge, collaborative skills and technical expertise. Pratt Institute, established in 1887, is a comprehensive master's level institution with four schools: Art and Design, which offers two-year, four-year and graduate programs; Architecture, which offers undergraduate and graduate programs, including the five-year first-professional B. Architecture; Information and Library Science, which offers an M.S. in Library and Information Science as well as dual degrees with Brooklyn Law School (MS/JD) and a joint MS/MS with Art History; and Liberal Arts and Sciences, which offers two undergraduate programs and provides the general education core for all undergraduate programs.
