Education is Freedom

Education is Freedom (EIF) is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of disadvantaged youth by guiding them to postsecondary opportunities and careers. Founded on the principle that every young person deserves the opportunity to pursue a higher education, the program promotes responsibility, academic excellence, and discipline. EIF strives to have a positive impact on the success of urban youth and their pursuit of a higher education through a two-tiered program targeted at high school and college students. The EIF High School program operates on 13 DISD high school campuses and is open to all students. The College Persistence Program operates at the University of North Texas and has closed enrollment.

Guidance: One-on-one advising that helps students achieve success in high school and navigate the college and scholarship application process Mentoring: Positive adult influence provided by regular interactions with successful professionals Tutoring: Academic assistance provided by volunteers, ambassadors, and mentors Life Skills: Courses offered by Higher Education Advisors that enable students to thrive in high school, college, and beyond Hope: Securing financial assistance for college
