TEACH Charlotte

  • About Us

TEACH Charlotte is a highly-selective program designed to recruit and train outstanding professionals and recent college graduates to become highly effective teachers in our highest-need public schools. We are committed to providing Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s students with a new generation of educators who will work relentlessly to significantly increase student achievement in their classrooms.

TEACH Charlotte is part of The New Teacher Project (TNTP), which is a national nonprofit committed to ending the injustice of educational inequality. Founded by teachers in 1997, TNTP works with schools, districts and states to provide excellent teachers to the students who need them most and advance policies and practices that ensure effective teaching in every classroom. Since its inception, TNTP has trained or hired approximately 49,000 teachers, benefiting an estimated 8 million students nationwide.
