Washington Pro Bono Council

  • About Us

The Washington Pro Bono Council (PBC) is the organization that supports, coordinates, and advocates for the network of the 16 Volunteer Lawyer Programs (VLPs) in the State of Washington. The VLPs are independent nonprofits offering free, high quality, efficient, and innovative civil legal assistance to low-income people in ways reflecting the history, resources, and needs of their local communities. This position responds to the needs of VLPs statewide, but is “housed” at Eastside Legal Assistance Program (ELAP) in Bellevue, WA. ELAP is one of the VLPs and provides civil legal services to survivors of domestic violence throughout King County, medical-legal assistance to individuals experiencing health-harming legal issues, assistance to individuals facing eviction or other housing problems, and pro bono legal aid.
