About Us
GIRLWITHABOOK Movement is a not for profit media organization advocating girls' education and gender equality.What began as a social media movement in response to the horrific attack on youth education activist Malala Yousafzai in October 2012, has grown into an internationally recognized movement for girls' empowerment. In March 2015 GIRLWITHABOOK conducted a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund a multi media documentary project on girls' education (and barriers to girls' education) in South & Central Asia. Our team returned successfully this winter and is now in post-production on the documentary project. GIRLWITHABOOK envisions a world in which all girls can learn safely and freely and create a future of their own design, free from violence.
