It is the mission of People Encouraging People to improve the health of our community by assisting people who are disabled or disadvantaged to participate fully in community life.

We provide a wide range of services to adults with complex health and social needs, and the people who depend on them. Treatment and rehabilitation services are highly individualized, meeting each individual where they are and encouraging them forward in their own recovery and goal attainment. Integrated engagement, behavioral health, somatic care management and housing are some of the areas with which we concern ourselves.

Services are community based, multidisciplinary and include the provision of social determinants of health. If you understand complex trauma to be the root cause of many health and social issues, you will find our organization to be a challenging and satisfying place to serve. Special services include forensic assertive community treatment, services to transitional age youth, wrap around services to deaf and hard of hearing persons with behavioral health disorders, elderly persons, and new Americans. An integrated homeless engagement team provides life saving mental health and opioid response services in times of crisis.

With a budget of over $28 million per year, 250 employees and 350 units of owned and operated housing, People Encouraging People has the resources and talented staff to address the myriad of needs of our 4000+ consumers throughout the Baltimore-Washington corridor.
