About Us
1% for the Planet exists to build and support an alliance of businesses financially committed to creating a healthy planet.
We are a growing global movement of more than 1,800 member companies - small and large - in 45 countries, who donate at least 1% of annual sales to environmental organizations. Founded in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard of Patagonia and Craig Mathews of Blue Ribbon Flies, 1% members have donated more than $200 million to environmental causes. 1% members donate directly to approved nonprofits, allowing them to remain closely connected to the issues they care about.
