About Us
The Literacy Council of Sarasota Inc., a not-for-profit educational organization, is building a more literate community by helping adults improve their English language communication skills through personalized, needs-based tutoring, individually and in small groups. Our aim is to empower and enable people to become self-sufficient, increase their opportunities and build better and richer lives by helping them improve their basic English skills. There is almost always a waiting list for students seeking tutors. Volunteers are always needed.
