The Wilson Center conducts interdisciplinary research to advance civil rights by improving criminal legal and behavioral health outcomes for impacted persons. The Center’s mission includes three important components: (1) research, (2) policy and law reform, and (3) education. This mission brings together faculty from across the university, law students, undergraduate and graduate students, medical trainees, and policymakers and lawmakers in a collective effort to use research to inform and reform criminal justice problems in North Carolina, across the United States, and around the globe. The Center conducts original research, conveys findings to policymakers and the public, and organizes and hosts conferences. WCSJ is nonpartisan does not engage in lobbying.
